Sure. HDMI carries both audio and video, but maybe one or two missed on request. Simply connect the player and the receiver no longer connect from the receiver on the screen. Both son already separated.

Bu it does not hurt to connect the receiver to the screen. If the extension takes place (on the TV or projector, the AVR, satellite, cable or check yours diskettes. The HDMI cable, just passing through the signal.

Terms and Conditions I agree that it makes no sense, the separation of signal and sending video directly on the screen. Make sure the DVD player you buy will be "multi-session", which means that the video signal of the DVD player through its subsidiaries will not change and the exit of videos Send this only sellected. If your DVD player is only sending the video line at sellected HDMI HDMI, you will not be able to connect to your TV. Most DVD players multi-session, but not all.

Most receivers can only HDMI switching and gateway. This means that you have connected a coaxial or optical digital audio receiver. First answer is correct that the upconversion on the player BlueRay / DVD and transmission of HDMI signals from your receiver does not affect the image quality.
